New Site

Gremlin here.

So, at the end of 2008, a couple things happened all at once. The messageboard got confused during what was supposed to have been a routine version update, corrupting its database; the film had recently moved to a new cinema; and, given those two factors, we started playing with layouts for a new version of this site. That was nearly three months ago.

Since then, the board’s been refilled with various…stuff. Click the link above to see some of that, and generally to catch the latest in news, the board’s content being updated more often than the mainsite’s. Since then also, the new cinema had to drop the film due to everything from scheduling conflicts to recessionary unmentionables. Since then furthermore also, like, in the last few minutes, we finished objectorientedprogramming [big words translating roughly to oh the pain] the new site, uploading it, and, as of a few minutes from now, adding a bit of content so the database won’t simply whimper that no one’s actually written anything for anyone to see yet. So, that’s coming along. You’re reading history in the making. ‘cept that, now that you’re reading it, it’s been made. Which sounds less special somehow. Nevermind.

To the extent that this, the new site, was a collaborative effort between we the hackers and they the people who had a rough idea what its form and function should ultimately be, things may be a little weirdlooking at first glance. If you’re wondering where everything you’re looking for is within the new site, begin by looking really, really hard. It’s all still here. It’s just not necessarily where it used to be. If you need another hint, scroll down to the bottom where you’ll find the links and tagcloud and whatever else we jammed into the footer. If what you’re looking for still can’t be found, then, who knows: maybe we actually forgot to add it; stop by the messageboard and remind us.

Strictly speaking, the site’s anything but done. Since it’s, you know, a website. By definition it’ll continue to evolve and gain information. Somewhere between NOTE TO SELF: KILL EVERYONE and BUY MORE POPTARTS on the whiteboard is a list of eventual features we just haven’t had time to add as of tonight. We’ll get to them. Also, that was a joke: we’re actually sick of PopTarts; they make us wanna kill everyone.

In closing, we’d like to thank everyone who approved the $150million bonus we got for completing this much of the site on schedule, but we can’t, since that didn’t actually happen; instead, we’re just telling everyone to go to hell. Until that becomes boring. Then come back and keep an eye out for future updates and features. Images. And videos. And images of videos. And videos of images. And maybe PopTarts. And whatever else.
